biography

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor  and Yoga Instructor with over a decade of experience working in the Health and Human services field. My career has included assisting individuals with career transitions, working with developmentally disabled adults in group homes, helping disadvantaged women return to the world of work, and providing out-patient psychotherapy to adults, children and adolescents. I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, grief, sexuality conflict  and other clinical symptoms.

I earned my Bachelors degree in Psychology from Lancaster University in England. After relocating to the United States, I completed my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Boston College. Since that time, my education was extended to include a Graduate Certificate in Mind/Body Interventions from Boston University. I am licensed by the State of Massachusetts to independently practice psychotherapy. Licensure requires that I have met rigorous standards of skill and education; I am expected to participate in continued education in order to maintain these standards. I have also completed a YogaWorks 200-hour teacher training led by Natasha Rizopolous and hosted by Back Bay Yoga, Boston.

I hold membership of the following professional organizations: British Psychological Society, American Psychological Association and the American Mental Health Counselors Association.
